Q. How does it work?

A. The system is really very simple, every Lost Pet Collar
has a unique ID# along with this website www.LostPetCollar.com
When a lost pet equipped with one of our collars is found the person that finds the pet simply reads the information on the collar enters the ID# on the website and then instantly will be forwarded to that pets personal page where they can see all the needed information to keep that pet safe and return it to its rightful owner!!

Q. Is my information safe?

A. Yes, LostPetCollar.com takes every precaution to keep your information accessible for its intended use (Returning your lost pet to you.)

Q. I have purchased my collar, setup my pet's profile and added my contact information... Am I done?

No. Once you receive your Lost Pet Collar in the mail, you must go to www.lostpetcollar.com and enter your unique ID # to activate your collar and finalize registration.
You will find the unique ID # located on the physical collar. This is your unique collar ID that will help us keep track of your pet. Please make sure you enter the correct ID # as it appears on your Lost Pet Collar.

Q. I like the idea of protecting my pet but I do not want my information to be public. Is there any way to keep my information private?

A. Yes here at lost pet collar we respect your choice for your information to be kept private. We offer an extra service where you simply fill out the collar registration form the same way as everyone else then select keep my information private. Your registration information is now kept secure in our data base.
Now when your pets ID# is entered into the tracking field a page comes up with the pets information along with a toll free 800 number to our 24/7 pet finder answering service where we will contact you with the contact information of the person that has your lost pet.

Q. Why is the Lost Pet Collar a better choice then the Microchip?

A. Recent studies show the microchip does cause miligment tumors in animals. Right now that is the largest downfall of the Microchip. Although there are other key things that we feel will make the Lost Pet Collar more effective.
Which the Microchip the lost pet must be brought to a Vet or Pound witch must have the scanning device to detect the chip.
Also the Vet and Pound have hours, here at Lost Pet Collar we will never put a time limit on when your pets can be returned to you we are open 24/7/365!!

Q: dear lost pet collar.... why is your collar better then a metal tag with a phone number on it ?

good question ..... here is a brief description of the problems with a metal tag

1. metal tags get dinged easily and over time you wont be able to read the number on them

2- they are limited to how much information they can hold

3- your information is always public for anyone to view

4- if you are not available to take a call when someone finds your lost pet....your out of luck

5- no room for secondary phone numbers, email address or work phone

6- if you change your phone number its another trip back to the store

7- no room for medical information ..allergies,medications , vets phone number

8- no room to explain pets likes and dislikes ( how to make them comfortable )

9 -you will still need to purchase a collar to put your metal tag on

10- basically there is not enough room for the vital information needed to return your pet home safely
